UNDERSTAND YOUR POOL WATER

Bring us a sample. Leave with a plan.

Pool-water problems are not always solved by adding more of the product used last time. The right treatment depends on the complete set of water-test results, your pool volume, its equipment and what has recently been added.

Where treatment is required, we’ll explain which products to use, how much to add and the order in which to add them—so you can treat the cause rather than continue guessing.

If you have noticed cloudy water, algae, staining, unusual chlorine demand or a problem that keeps returning, tell us what has been happening. That context can be just as useful as the sample itself.

YOUR WATER-TEST VISIT

A straightforward way to find the next step

01

Bring your sample and pool details

Bring a fresh water sample, your approximate pool volume and details of anything recently added. Photographs of your chlorinator and equipment can also be helpful.

02

We test and review the water

We assess the water-test results together rather than treating one reading in isolation. Your pool equipment, recent weather and the symptoms you have noticed can also affect the advice.

03

We explain the treatment plan

We’ll talk you through what the pool requires, which adjustments should be made first and how to use the recommended products safely and effectively.

There is no charge for the water test and no obligation to purchase products.

BEFORE YOU VISIT

How to collect a useful water sample

A freshly collected sample gives us the most useful picture of your pool water. Free Cassaro sample bottles are available from our Sorrento store, but a suitable disposable drinking-water bottle can also be used.

  1. Collect the sample before adding chemicals to the pool that day.
  2. Use a Cassaro sample bottle or a clean, clear disposable plastic drinking-water bottle.
  3. Rinse the bottle with pool water and empty it before collecting the sample.
  4. Collect the water from approximately elbow depth—at least 450 mm below the surface.
  5. Take the sample away from the skimmer, return jets and chemical-dosing points.
  6. Fill the bottle and seal it immediately.
  7. Keep it cool and out of direct sunlight.
  8. Bring it to Cassaro as soon as possible, ideally within two hours and on the same day.

Do not use a glass bottle or any container that has held chemicals, detergent, juice, flavoured drinks or other liquids.

What to bring with the sample

Your pool volume in litres
The make and model of your chlorinator
Details of chemicals added within the previous 48 hours

If you don’t know the chlorinator model, bring clear photographs of the chlorinator, control panel and complete equipment area.

If you don’t know the pool volume, bring its length, width and approximate average depth. We can help estimate the volume, although accurate measurements produce a more precise treatment plan.

HELP AT YOUR POOL

Some problems need to be seen in person

A water test can identify what is happening in the water, but it cannot always show why the problem developed. Poor circulation, filtration problems, equipment faults, heavy debris or established algae may require assessment and work at the pool.

If the test results or the information you provide suggest that an onsite visit would be more appropriate, we’ll explain the available next step.

LOCAL POOL-CARE SUPPORT

A pool shop you can come back to

Serving local pool owners since 1985

Our business began as Loch Ness Pool Supplies and continues today as Cassaro Pool Care.

Independent and family owned

Cassaro is an independent Gold Coast business—not a franchise or a national call centre.

Water and equipment considered together

Water chemistry, circulation, filtration and sanitisation affect one another. We help customers consider the complete pool rather than one result or product in isolation.

Shop and mobile service support

Visit us in Sorrento for testing, products and advice, or speak with the team when professional help is required at the pool.

Pool shop and water-testing questions

Is pool water testing free?

Yes. Pool water testing at our Sorrento shop is free, with no testing fee and no obligation to purchase products.

Do I need to make an appointment?

No. Bring your water sample into the shop during our normal opening hours. If you need a particular product or want to speak with us about a complex problem, you are welcome to call ahead.

What if I don’t know my pool volume or equipment model?

Bring the pool’s dimensions and clear photographs of the equipment. We can often help identify the equipment and estimate the pool volume from this information.

Can you help if my pool is green?

Yes, but an established green pool generally requires more than an in-store water test. Cassaro provides a managed Green Pool Recovery service, with treatment usually completed across multiple visits.

Do you stock pool equipment and replacement parts?

Cassaro stocks and supplies a range of pool equipment, maintenance products and replacement components. Availability depends on the required brand and model, so call ahead if you are looking for a particular item.
